“A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. 12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:10-12)
Dreams, Vision and Spiritual warfare
Do you have a dream or vision for your life? Or perhaps you are battling with an addiction, depression, sickness or something painful? And may be things look so bad you are contemplating giving up.
Many of us are vast in the knowledge of the Blessings of God available to us in the Bible but not many of us are willing to seriously engage the enemy in spiritual combat, for our rightful inheritance! It’s sad to say, too many believers are defeated in their Christian walk because of adopting a casual approach when it comes to spiritual warfare. Most Christians are either ignorant of spiritual warfare or do not seriously embrace the concept of war as followers of Jesus Christ.
Spiritual warfare is inevitable in a Christian walk of faith. It is vital to realise that as Christians we are called to the Battle front. Paul makes this clear in Ephesians 6,that we are up against forces of darkness. In 2 Corinthians 10, Paul tells us that though we are human beings, but we don’t fight this war with physical weapon but with God’s spiritual armour. (2 Corinthians 10:3-4)
YOUR Kingdom Come On Earth
As Christians we are called to establish the kingdom of God in a hostile environment. We are sent out as sheep among wolves. (Matthew 10:16). Your godly life and vision is a threat to Satan’s kingdom! It becomes obvious why Satan will mount up resistance in every way possible to stop you. You see, the battle is not primarily about you but it’s about stopping God’s will in heaven coming to pass in the earthly realm. That is exactly what Jesus told us to pray for “Yourkingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” (Luke 11:2).
Now then, what do you do, when everything is thrown at you and you feel you can’t take it anymore? When You feel you are backed against the wall with no means of escape? Okay, Let me encourage you with this word today.
Don’t Back Out!
First, Never, Never, Give Up! Why not? Because that is exactly what Satan wants. The devil knows that the victory is already yours. Jesus won the victory it is all done! “It is finished”.(John 19:30). Stick with it. Do what God told you to do. And watch God do the impossible for you!
Have The Faith of God
The second thing, Believe it will happen – Have faith in God to make it happen. If your faith is in yourself or what you can see with your natural eyes, you don’t stand a chance with the devil. But if your faith is in God, you are rock solid.
In 2 Kings 6, when Elisha was surrounded by enemy armies, his servant became afraid because in the natural the odds were stacked against them, and Elisha prayed. Suddenly, he saw chariots of fire and a host of angels surrounding their enemies, ready to take them out! (2 Kings 6:17).
Praise God by Faith
Third, begin to thank the Lord by faith for the victory. In 2 Chronicles 20:22 it says, “As they began to sing and praise the Lord, the Lord sent ambushes and their enemies were defeated.”
Stand Your Ground in Prayer
Last but not the least, after doing all you know to do, take a strong stand with your armour in prayer. Take a look at this quote on prayer by Mueller “It is not enough to begin to pray, nor to pray aright; nor is it enough to continue for a time to pray; but we must patiently, believingly continue in prayer, until we obtain an answer; and further, we have not only to continue in prayer unto the end, but we have also to believe that God does hear us and will answer our prayers. Most frequently we fail in not continuing in prayer until the blessing is obtained, and in not expecting the blessing.” – George Mueller.
Reflection: I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart. 24 I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours. (Mark 11:23-24).
