“But take courage! None of you will lose your lives, even though the ship will go down. 23 For last night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood beside me, 24 and he said, ‘Don’t be afraid, Paul, for you will surely stand trial before Caesar! What’s more, God in his goodness has granted safety to everyone sailing with you.’ 25 So take courage! For I believe God. It will be just as he said.” ( Acts 27:22-25)
In this Bible account in Acts Chapter 27, Paul and some other political prisoners were heading for Rome. Paul perceived danger and advised against setting off but the Centurion in charge rejected Pauls advise against sailing. They eventually got caught up in a storm. For fourteen days and nights they were in the deep end of the sea tossing against a relentless wind. Day and night they were covered in darkness, because the thick darkness of the storm ragging against them hid the sun, moon and stars from breaking through.
Light At The End of The Tunnel
Picture the scene for a moment, they were completely drained of all hopes. By now they were wet, hungry, cold and depressed. They were barely hanging on to their last breath waiting for death. However one man, in the midst of this overwhelming fear and panic had a different attitude. Apostle Paul refused every evil report, he remained “Cheerful” even though death was staring him in the face, ready to swallow him up. How come? What gave him such confidence and courage to face death squarely in the face and remain defiant to live?
A Life of Faith
Take a look again at his confession: “..For I believe God. It will be just as He said” (Acts 27:25). Paul obviously had a different attitude because he chose to believe the report of the Lord. He believed that if God said it, He is also able to perform it, no matter how difficult it looks. And because of his faith, God watched over Paul’s confession of faith and delivered them as He promised. Now, what about you my friend, whose report do you believe in that situation you are facing? You can choose to be like Paul and embrace the promises of God for your life. Daily encouraging yourself in the Word and boldly confessing the promises of God in the Bible over every negative report in your life. Beloved be encouraged in the knowing that, God watches over His Word to perform it in our lives. (Jeremiah 1:12.). Your life is hidden in Christ and you have victory over death, hell and the grave. Amen!
Father thank you that the entrance of your Word brings light and life to me. The just shall live by faith and I live by faith in your Word. You are a covenant keeping God. In Jesus Christ I have a covenant of life. Lord deliver me from every power of death. In your mercy forgive me and set me free from every know and unknown sin that has brought death to my door. Lord hide me under the shadow of your wings. I plead the Blood of Jesus Christ over the door post of my life and I command you angel of death, waiting to terminate my life be roasted by the fire of God in Jesus Name. I receive impartation of the very Life of God into every cell and organ in my body, the Blood of Jesus is flowing through me, washing away every symptom of death in my body and life. I will not bury my children either. I declare death is swallowed up in victory in my life and family. I shall live a long and satisfied life declaring the works of the Lord every day of my life. In Jesus Name. Amen.
Reflection:"Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life]." (Proverbs 18:21)
