The WORD Works!

“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.” (Isaiah 53:5).

Few years ago I suddenly developed a breathing problem together with severe pain on my left ribs. Taking a deep breath was painful, and I couldn’t bend or twist my body in any way because of the sharp pain on my side. Also, I couldn’t ride in a vehicle because every time the break was applied or if there was a sudden jolt, pain rippled through my rib cage. I went to see my doctor. He did a series of examinations but couldn’t find what was wrong, so he suggested putting me on some medications, to see if it will help before suggesting the next step.

At that point I felt fear grip my heart. The doctor also told me some possible side effects of the medications. As I sat there listening to him, the Lord told me to rebuke fear! I rebuked the spirit of fear in Jesus name right there and then! And I immediately felt a surge of faith rise in me, I felt strengthened in my heart to believe God for my healing. I told my doctor not to bother about writing the prescriptions anymore because I believe God can heal me without going through all the suggested side effects. He didn’t like my idea but I thanked him politely for his help and went home.

As soon as I got home, I took out my Bible, the Lord impressed some Scripture verses in my heart, I wrote them down and started meditating, praying and confessing them over my body. Three days into this, the pain was getting worse. I took a day out to fast and wait on the Lord to find out why the Word was not working in my body. The Lord answered me, He said, “Keep up the confession.” From that moment, I knew it was done. I thanked God by faith and kept declaring the Word over my situation. On Friday that week, I went to the church watch night prayer service. Suddenly, in the middle of the service, I noticed, every single pain was gone! My breathing was perfect, I could bend, twist, jump and run! Praise God! The WORD works!!!

Prayer Confession: Father thank you for the Blood of Jesus that was shed for me and for the power of your word. Forever your Word is settled in heaven. I believe in the power of your Word to impart my spirit, soul, body and change my life. I take hold of your word by faith for my life. I receive the power to walk over every evil affliction; they shall by no means hurt. I command you spirit of fear leave in Jesus name! I eject sickness and diseases from my body. My body is the temple of God. Even though, I walk through the valley and shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for the Lord is my shepherd and His goodness and mercies shall follow me all the days of my life. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Reference: “God’s Word is living and powerful. It is sharper than a sword that cuts both ways. It cuts straight into where the soul and spirit meet and it divides them. It cuts into the joints and bones. It tells what the heart is thinking about and what it wants to do.” (Hebrews 4:12).

  • Hi Shade! Wow! Your faith was really rewarded. And the fact that you would truly listen to the Lord. I’m sure your doctor felt bad for you…you left in so much pain. If he only knew about the healing…what joy 🙂
Thank you for sharing this event, and reminding us that the Lord is not done healing his faithful children.

    • Bless you Cell 🙂 I actually didn’t go back to tell him about my healing, however, I really do appreciate doctors and those working in the medical field, I believe that are God sent help to humanity, but for me, it was one of those occasions I knew I had to put my faith on the line.

Thank you so much for your beautiful encouragement!
