The Mind Of Christ

Karfreitag

“For,“Who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?” But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.” (1 Corinthians 2:16).

The battles of life are fought in the mind.  The mind is where ideas are created, it is where we exercise the ability to reason and make decisions. God has given mankind the ability to reason and choose the direction we want our lives to go. (Deuteronomy 31:19). The day we accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior we became Born Again, we received a New Birth – Like a new baby.  We received a new spiritual nature – The Divine Nature by the power of the Holy Spirit. (2 Corinthians 5:17).  And so we became a New Creation in Christ. God becomes our heavenly Father and by that right, we became inheritors of God’s promises in the Bible. (Ephesians 1:3). The old life has passed, and a  New Life has come. meaning we don’t govern our lives by the old way of living anymore.

In parallel, like the physical nature, the new spiritual nature we have inherited also has a “Mind”. The new spiritual nature has “The Mind of Christ”.  so therefore, we no longer function under the old sinful nature anymore. But we now exercise our ability to create ideas,  reason and  make judgement with the new Mind of Christ. From the moment we accepted Jesus Christ, we begin to govern our lives with the Mind of Christ by renewing our minds with the Word of God daily. (Romans 12:1-2). We surrender every area of our lives to function under the Lordship of Jesus Christ through the Word.  Beloved, God has given us the power to choose the life we want, the Bible says if we continue to live by the sinful nature it will lead to death but if we choose to align our lives with the Word of God we will have life.

Prayer Confession: Heavenly Father thank you for saving me. You have delivered me from the power of sin and Satan and translated me into your glorious kingdom. I am forever grateful for the new life you have given me. The very Divine Nature of Christ now lives in me. Sin is longer my master. My mind is conditioned by the word of God. I view and judge all things with the mind of Christ. My mind is renewed daily unto the good, acceptable and perfect will of God for my life. By the grace of God I will walk in humility but I know who I am in Christ. In all things I rejoice in hope, I’m patient in tribulation and steadfast in prayer. The just shall live by faith. I reject every lie of the devil. God has given me the victory through Christ. My life is a blessing and testimony. The name of the Lord shall be glorified in my life. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Reflection: "Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. 6 So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace." (Romans 8:5-6).
