“Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.].” (John 14:27).
This world system is being shaken. When we consider world news, the rise of lawlessness and the rapid events predicted by the Bible unfolding before our eyes, we can see that we are leaving in perilous times. However, the good news is that, we are not in darkness about the time we are living in today. These troubling world events are not news to God at all. In fact, God in His wonderful grace and goodness has made provision for those who are willing to listen and come to safety.
Jesus made it clear that we can have peace in the midst of a troubled world, because though, we are in the world but we are not of the world. (John 17:16). It’s sad that many believers do hear this, but we don’t take time to reflect and digest this properly. Take a look at part of the prayer Jesus prayed for us who believe in Him. “…Sanctify them through your TRUTH: Your WORD is the Truth…” (John 17:16-19). To be sanctified means to be set apart. And in this case, we are set apart by the Truth for the Truth. Jesus came to the earth as a manifestation of the Truth.( John 14:6). And before He left this world He promised to send the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, another like Himself, who will counsel and guide us into all the Truth. (John 15:26; John 16:13-15). Thus, We are not of this world but of “The TRUTH.”
As believers in Jesus Christ we don’t belong to this world’s system we belong to a higher system – a Supernatural Kingdom. And exactly like Jesus, when He was in this world, He was not of this world. He lived by the Truth of God’s kingdom. He was sent by the Father, as the Son of God to manifest the Truth and to herald the Truth, and He went about proclaiming that Truth – The good news of God’s kingdom, healing the oppressed, setting the captives free and destroying the works of the devil in people’s life. So also, we are suppose to be reflection of that. We are God’s children as ‘new creation’ in Jesus Christ(1 John 3:2). As Christ is, so are we also in this world. (2 Corinthians 5:17; 1 John 5:17). We are Christ ambassadors from the higher Kingdom living by the Truth and heralding that Truth – The Good News to this world.
I will continue this in tomorrow’s blog post. 🙂
Prayer Confession: Heavenly Father thank you for sanctifying me to yourself through the blood of Jesus Christ. I am not of this world I belong to your Kingdom. I love your Word it is the Truth that sets me free to live a glorious life in this world and after. I will forever sing your praise. Thank you Jesus for the gift of your peace that lives in. The Truth of your Word is my refuge, strength and very present help in troubled times. The Lord of host is with me, comforting and guiding me everyday in the Word of God. I have no fear in every area of my life for I am born of God. And I have overcome the wicked one for greater is He that lives in me than the spirit of antichrist that is in the world. I am an ambassador for Christ. I am anointed with the Holy Spirit and power to boldly declare the Good News and set the captives free. The name of the Lord shall be magnified in my life and the knowledge of the Lord shall cover the earth like the waters cover the seas. In jesus name. Amen!
Reflection: "And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him." (Acts 10:38).
