Where Do You Abide? (Pt 2)

“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. 2 There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? 3 When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.”  (John 14:1-3).

As a continuation from yesterday’s blog post… As believers we are set apart from this world’s system to live by the truth in the Scriptures. Now as we know the direct opposite of truth is lie. And we know from Scriptures that the devil is the source of all lies and there is no truth in him. The Bible calls him the father of liars. (John 8:44). He is the deceiver of the world and the god of this world. (Revelation 12:9; 2 Corinthians 4:4). If we focus on and run our lives by the evil reports of this world we will miss what God has for us. The world system is lead by the flesh which leads to death (Galatians 6:8), but we are lead by the Spirit of Truth by renewing our minds.(Romans 12:1). The Holy Spirit who lives in us wants to take control leading us into every victory Jesus Christ won for us!  Making us live like priests and kings in this world! (1 Peter 2:5; 1 Peter 2:9).

Our strength comes from knowing the truth and building our lives on it. (Matthew 7:24-27). The end of this age is fast approaching and we must know who and whose we are. As children of God we need to know the Truth about God’s supernatural end time plan for us. Which is good and not evil. Jesus told us to Watch, Pray and BE READY for His coming! We are to look up and not down! (Mark 14:32-37). And so, in this time frame, we are set apart and lead by the good Shepherd to be faithful in doing the will of our heavenly Father on earth and while we are going about it, no devil from hell can harm us. We are preserved from the evil one! (John 17:15; Psalm 91). The Lord has prepared a supernatural table overflowing with His goodness, favour and mercy even in midst of all the doom and gloom report of the world as we remain faithful. (Psalm 23:5-6); (Psalm 5:12); (Psalm 16:6).

In John 15:7, Jesus said “If you abide in Me, and my Word abides in you, you can ask for anything and it will be granted.” We are suppose to ‘Abide’ in the word of truth like our permanent home, not one foot in the world and the other in the Word, shifting to and fro, moving in and out. We are to trust and settle every area of our lives by the truth of God’s Word. We conduct our lives by the standard of the Word. No matter the shaken going on in the world system, Jesus said it is finished! He won a complete victory for us to live a free and abundant life. Friend, if you feel hopeless about the circumstances you are going through today, be encouraged that, God is bigger and can make a way for you. Ask today in Jesus name and begin to praise God for your breakthrough!

Prayer Confession: Dear heavenly Father, thank you that your plans for me in the end times and always, are good not evil. You are my Shepherd, leading me daily by your Spirit as I renew my mind with the Word. Help me to be on guard against the deception of the evil one. Help me to be faithful and to use the authority of your name invested in me, to represent your kingdom on earth and be a light to those in darkness. I have a holy calling, I will not fear nor be slothful, but by the grace of God, I will be waiting and watching with the joy of the Lord, ever ready for the return of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I ask for this in Jesus Might Name. Amen!

Reflection:"If you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and My words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you." (John 15:7).

  • Hi Shade! I went back and read your last post too…peace is such a precious commodity isn’t it? We all crave it, and usually end up looking for it in the wrong places.Truth and the Word will lead me that wonderful place of peace and protection. As you said, Jesus has already won the battle for us, so our hearts do not need to be troubled. Only if I choose it.
    In him is our strength!
May I always abide in him…he is always abiding in me!
