Don’t Compromise With Fear!

“When the wicked, even my enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.” (Psalm 27:2).

Many people give up to soon in the face of daunting oppositions in the pursuit of their dreams. The quickest option when confronted with overwhelming challenges is to give in to the voice of compromise and roll over for the enemy to steal what belongs to us. In 2 Kings chapter 7, the king of Syria laid siege against the city of Samaria. He sent His army to surround and fence Samaria in. The plan was to cut off their food supply and eventually capture Samaria. It looked hopeless. The people began to starve, famine gripped the land so much so, that some people began to eat their children.

In the midst of this scenario outside the city wall, were four leprous men. They were considered untouchable and not allowed inside the city. As such, these men were in a far worse situation than those inside the city. They couldn’t go into the city, and even if they did, they will starve anyway. And if they stayed at the city gate they will starve to death also. And if they approach the Syrian army for food the probability of getting killed was very high. These men were in a desperate and hopeless situation.

But as bad as it was, these men refused to allow their seemly hopeless condition to dictate their outcome. They were not going to sit down complaining or fold their hands like ‘the fit and able’ inside the city. They were not going to roll over for death to take them out with easy. Either way, they were going to fight, even if they were going down, they were going down with a fight! They decided to confront the Syrian army with their last breath!

The Bible says at twilight, these four weak and disabled leprous men set out for the camp of the enemy. But as they stepped out! God stepped out ahead of them!… Every step they took in the natural, God backed it with a rout from heaven! And so, the Syrian army fled for their lives! These men ended up with so much spoils from their enemy’s camp that they didn’t have enough room to store the blessing, God rewarded their courage with unexpected wealth!

And so it goes that, God used four leprous men considered to be ‘untouchable and foolish things’ in the eyes of the world to save a nation! How do you rank yourself in the face of your challenges today? My friend, we have divine arsenals beyond the intelligence of this world! When trouble strikes refuse to fear and roll over for the devil to steal your blessing. Call on the name of Jesus! The Lord of Host is His Name, might in battle and great in victory!

Prayer Confession:Thank you heavenly Father that you are my shield and refuge. I have found safety under the might shadow of your wings. My strength is renewed in your word daily.I refuse to be intimidated by life challenges and evil reports of doom and gloom. Thank you that you bring the counsel of the evil one over my life and family to ruin in Jesus name. I have divine wisdom and strength over and above every opposition standing in my path to progress. I refuse to hold back and compromise my destiny. Father I declare your promises to be true in my life. I will trust you to guide my every step to the victory you have stored up for me. In Jesus Name. Amen!

Reflection:"Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand." (Isaiah 41:10).
