It is Finished. Keep Walking by Faith

“And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world.” (1 John 4:17)

Many of us Christians are not walking in the dimension of power available to us. Ignorance of who we are in Christ will short-circuit the power of God in our lives. To live in the full potential of who we are, it is important to grasp two distinct elements. Β First, what God has done for us through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and second, what we have to do for ourselves in the light of what Christ has done.

God has MADE us righteous, by CREATING us in His own image and likeness. Meaning, God has finished with the old Adam He created in Genesis. God has created a New Man, which is your spirit man. (A new creature, 1 Corinthians 5:17). The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead, also gave birth to your spirit man. (Ephesians 2:5-6). When your physical mother gave birth to you, you inherited the genes of the old Adam (the nature of iniquity, psalm 51:5). The day you were Born Again, you inherited the genes of Jesus Christ (the Righteous Nature). And now, God talks to you and deals with you from the perspective of the New Man ( your spirit man).

The problem is that, many of us are not able to receive from God because we are still trying to live the Christian life from the old nature. Many feel guilty and unworthy. They are trying to work and earn the righteousness of God by their good acts and how they feel. The Father gave the job of redemption to Jesus, and He has done a fantastic job! God is pleased with what Jesus has done. Our redemption is complete! Now, our part is to BE HOLY. (1 Peter 1:16). We have to keep renewing our mind to the fact that God has already made us holy and worthy in His sight. Therefore, we have to live the Christian life from the New Creation perspective. (Romans 12:1-2).

Your part is to BELIEVE and BE who God says you are. When the devil tries to tempt you with fornication, resist the devil in Jesus name! And renew your mind to who you are. Tell the devil, you are not a dog, you don’t belong to the animal rank, the lower life, but you have the higher life, the God-kind life. When sickness attacks your body, send it back to the devil! Renew your mind to who you are, your body is holy, it is the temple of God and sickness cannot dwell in it. When the fear of lack, attacks your mind, renew your mind, it is impossible for your heavenly Father to lack. God is able to supply all your needs according to His riches and glory. This is how we live the holy life in Christ. My friend, don’t let the devil harass you with guilt and condemnation any more! Stand on the Word, God is able to perform what He has promised.

Prayer Confession: Father thank you for creating me in the express image of yourself in Christ. The fullness of God dwells in me now. I am free from guilt and condemnation, for who the Son sets free is freed. I am who God says I am in the Word. I will walk by faith in the finished work of Christ. The Word of grace builds and guides me daily. The Power of the Holy Spirit is at work in me, causing me to experience the victory of the cross in every area of my life. In Jesus name Amen.

Reflection: “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.” (Romans 8:1).

Shade, I believe the enemy gets scared when we realize we are redeemed from the hand of the enemy. Also, I believe his number one goal for each Christian is to make us doubt who we are in Christ, just like he did with Eve. The enemy planted one seed of doubt in Eve and she began doubting that she had all she ever needed or desired in God. Thank you for sharing this powerful truth.
    Continual blessing sister! πŸ™‚

    • Marilyn thank you for your comment! I totally agree, the enemy’s chief goal is to cause us to doubt who we are in Christ. This way, he can steal our identity and authority like he did in the garden. Thanks, I love this beautiful insight!

Have a wonderful week my sister! Blessings πŸ™‚
