“Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Hebrews 12:1-2).
Welcome to the new year! By this time in this new year, I’m guessing, if you’re like most of us, you have your written list of new year’s resolutions or simply put, goals and objectives for the year. I believe it is important to prayerfully plan ahead and with the guidance of the Holy Spirit set specific goals to accomplish for the year. There is a saying that goes, “To not plan is to plan to fail.” Planning ahead is a great incentive to keep us motivated and focused.
But did you know it’s reported that only about 8% of us, actually accomplish the goals we set for the year? Pretty daunting and scary isn’t it? And this is why i will like to learn a voice of encouragement to you and myself as we start off the year.
As much as God desires for to do great things, success won’t fall from heaven but we have to wholeheartedly pursue the dream God has given us with passion. Even Jesus the Son of God had to set the ‘Joy’ of His dream before Him in order to accomplish His mission in life. You have to set goals for that dream, set godly values and priorities around the goals.
Every meaningful dream will encounter barriers or set back at one point or another. The important thing is to be patient with yourself, life is not a sprint or a straight line but a series of twists and turns, hills and valleys. The important thing is to be resilient. Obstacles are temporary. Paul calls them a moment’s affliction in comparison to the Joy God has waiting for us, if we are willing to press in and press on to accomplish our dreams. “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,” (2 Corinthians 4:17 ).
As you put your trust in God in 2017, be encouraged in knowing that every obstacle on your journey is an opportunity to experience the miracle hand of God uplifting you from impossibility to possibility. As you work hard, let your faith rest in God to move every mountain out of your way and bring you through to victory.
Prophetic Prayer Declaration for the Year 2017
“And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that God exists and that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:6)
Jesus Christ is my rock. I am unshakable, my hope is in God and His Word is my anchor. The heavens and earth were framed by the Word of God. The Lord is faithful to keep His promises.
God is bigger than my circumstances. I don’t see problem in 2017 because my circumstances are miracle opportunities. I don’t acknowledge defeat for with God all things are possible. I set my eyes on Jesus the author and finisher of my faith.
Faith pleases God and I will walk by faith and not by sight. As I press forward this year, of 2017, by faith God is working all things together for my good. My life is extremely blessed in 2017. As I seek first the kingdom of God in every area of my life, the Lord will cause His right hand of blessing to rest upon me. I am blessed when i go out and blessed when i come in. The blessings of God that has no sorrow is resting upon my life and family from January to December of 2017 and even beyond.
Thank you Father, for your plan to bring me through to the victory side. I am not a doubter I will not lean on my own understanding. God is able to do more than I can ask or imagine in this year. As I remain faithful in little things the Lord will make me ruler of much. The Lord will make me head and not tail amongst my peers. No power can stop the peace, joy and the river of God’s blessings from flowing in my life.
Thank you Lord that the enemies that come against me in one way shall flee in seven ways. I am anxious for nothing at all. I am a winner in all endeavours in 2017. My heavenly Father will not keep any good thing away from me. I press forward to my high calling in Christ. In Jesus name. Amen!
