Keep Pressing Forward

In Ephesians 1:18, Paul prayed for the Ephesians believers to know who they were in Christ. To understand what God had invested them, the depth of the riches of Christ dwelling in them as people set apart unto God.

Simply put, God wants you to know who you are as His child. He wants you know what He has promised you in His Word.
The book of James reminds us not to be forgetful hearers (James 1:25), Meaning don’t limit yourself to function in the dysfunctional mindset or corrupted minded set of this world, rather KEEP PRESSING FORWARD with your life by keeping your focus on God, believing what God says about you.

We can learn from Peter’s example at the sea of Galilee in Matthew 14:24-33. When Peter launched out on the Word of Jesus, doing the impossible, walking on the water. At first, when Peter started out, walking towards Jesus, his focus was fixed on the Lord. But then, Peter started to notice the wind, he started to look the waves on the water and he started to get worried. Immediately Peter began to sink!

My friend, If you continue to focus your eyes on your physical condition, the pain, how impossible the condition looks, your financial difficulties, problems in your marriage and children, you will continue to open the door to doubt and fear.

“But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.” (James 1:25)

In closing, let’s remember the children of Israel, they would have been 40 years ahead and better off if they had listen to the good reports and the promises of God instead of the negative reports. (Numbers Chapter 14).

“But I said to you, “You will possess their land; I will give it to you as an inheritance, a land flowing with milk and honey.” I am the LORD your God, who has set you apart from the nations.” (Leviticus 20:24).
