Knowing God

Gift of Salvation and Peace with God

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

When Adam and Eve sinned, sin entered the world, and separated them from God. Through their sin, the curse and death spread to all.  Sin condemns and declares us guilty before God. No amount of good works can blot out our sins and give us the right to approach God who is holy and perfect. Thus, we are enemies of God through sin.  We are  lost without any hope of being reconnected back to God and doomed to spend eternity away from God in hell after death.

The scripture says, “But your wickedness has separated you from your God, And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.” (Isaiah 59:2)  But, the Bible also tells us the other important fact,  that, God sent Jesus Christ to save us. God demonstrated  His love towards us  by doing what we could not do for ourselves.

“ But God has shown us how much He loves us—it was while we were still sinners that Christ died for us! By His blood we are now put right with God; how much more, then, will we be saved by Him from God’s anger!” (Romans 5:8-9)

On the cross Jesus Christ became the final sacrifice for our sins. He paid for our salvation with His blood. The Bible tells us,  “Adam’s one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ’s one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and NEW LIFE for everyone.” (Romans 5:18)

My friend, God sending His Son, Jesus Christ, has  provided a way for us to escape the judgement of God, to receive God’s forgiveness and the assurance of Heaven after death. However, God’s gift of salvation is not automatically given to everybody, it is an individual decision. This is a personal choice left to you, to either accept or reject.

This is why the Bible says, “But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:12)

Now my friend, I encourage you at this point,  to Stop for a moment and Reflect on these Questions;

Do you have peace with God?

If you were to die tomorrow, are you sure and very confident you are going to live in Heaven?

Do you need God to forgive you?

If you will like to receive God’s forgiveness,  accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, please say this prayer:

“Dear God, thank you for sending Jesus to died for my sins. I turn away from my sins and I accept Jesus into my life as my Lord and Savior. Help me to live my life in the way that is pleasing to you. I receive your gift of  forgiveness and the promise of eternal life. I ask this in Jesus name. Amen”
