The Call to Prayer
“Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” (Matthew 18:18).
We are living in extremely challenging period. One of the most dangerous and truly apocalyptic times. The complex nature of the turbulence in our world today is beyond the scope of human intelligence. And the rigorous attempts by government leaders to resolve these conflicts are not helping. Rather, they seem to be igniting the problems even more.
It’s not just the war and rumours of war in different parts of the world. But equally frightening is the decline of moral value in our world. In particular, the western society today. Judaeo-Christian values are central to western democracy but since the social and sexual revolution of the 60s, we have seen a constant erosion of these foundational values. The trend is up at an alarming rate, we are now seeing these values chipped away in colossal chunks by secular ideologies.
Our government have expelled God from the public arena. This has imparted our institutions. Marriage and family values, undeniably the pillar bone of any thriving society have suffered significantly and it’s crumbling.
We have banished Judeo-Christian values in our education system. Our public schools from Kindergarten to Universities level teach atheistic views. We are offering these views to our children as superior alternative to Judeo Christian values. No wonder the protective hedge and God’s hand of blessing is withdrawn from us. No wonder demonic forces are not held back in checks and perhaps we don’t need to wonder why we are facing tragedy of epic proportion in our young communities today.
To further compound the problem confronting our youth globally is the escalating refugee crisis. European commission reports that, there are over 65 million displaced refugees globally and over 50% of the population are children under 18. Just imagine the accumulative effect of this on our young generation in the very near future?!?
The Bible declares, “If the foundations [of a godly society] are destroyed, What can the righteous do?” (Psalm 11:3) Amp. Our world is in a desperate condition spiritually and the real solution to these challenges is God.
“If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14).
Only God can heal and restore the foundation of righteousness in our communities. I believe that the turbulence we are experiencing is a trigger for a Global Awakening. If we the Church will pray and intercede on behalf of our communities and the nations.
“I looked for someone who might rebuild the wall of righteousness that guards the land. I searched for someone to stand in the gap in the wall so I wouldn’t have to destroy the land, but I found no one.” (Ezekiel 22:30).
God is seeking for those whose heart are willing to connect with His and intercede for the lost souls.
